It begins..............

On Thursday, September 26, 2013, Dave and I began a journey coordinated by Lefty Pistentis of Fanari and also Dave's business partner at Morgan Stanley.  Lefty travels several times each year but this was the first time that we joined him.

We boarded Bus "A" at the Bishop Connare Center for the trip to Newark Airport.  Our bus had an alternator problem so it got pretty stuffy after a few hours.  We stopped for lunch at the Clinton Diner in NJ and thankfully, our bus driver, Mr. Murphy, was able to fix it.  The roof vents had been opened and that allowed air to circulate, making for a more comfortable trip.

We stood in long lines at the airport and finally got on the Lufthansa aircraft to Frankfurt.  It was a huge airplane with ten seats across.  Dave was crammed into a window seat and I was in the middle seat next to a very large German man who also happened to be left handed - making meal time a most pleasurable experience - NOT!!! Each seat had an individual screen with movie and music selections.  We were served dinner (chicken teriyaki) and breakfast - both were decent for airline food.  Seven and one half hours later, we arrived in Frankfurt for a short layover before the flight to Prague.  The Prague plane was a standard six seat across model and was much more comfortable than the transatlantic aircraft.  The flights went well and we endured both of them!
